The Heart of a Healer: Now What?
What’s Next?
What do we do now that we have come to realize in the deepest part of ourselves that helping people heal and grow is what we were born to do?
The Healer Manifesto
(1) Accept that being a healer is who you are. Take whatever time you need to come to terms with this awesome, magnificent calling.
(2) Accept the mission and commit to living this purpose fully, inhabiting its energy, every day in whatever way fits your life. Being a healer, or any life purpose for that matter, is not just about what you do, it’s about being, about living from that energy. Become willing to grow into it even more.
Meditate on what it would look and feel like to live within this purpose or gift from the moment you woke up until you went to bed. Having a healer life purpose or gift is not just about what job you will do for 8 hours a day. It is a consciousness you are meant to inhabit! A way of being. What would that be like for you?
"Your life assignment is to inhabit your (healer) consciousness right here, right now, dealing with whatever life sends your way. That is what you came to do in this lifetime. That is where you can find your greatest fulfillment."~ Richard Unger, LifePrints
(3) Make a commitment to healing yourself. The first captive you need to set free is you! It is time to break down the walls, break free from whatever has kept you from full embodiment of your life purpose.
"Healers are challenged to become highly aware of their feelings, thoughts and motivations through getting in touch with themselves. It is no wonder, then, that healers are people whose potential lies in their willingness to visit the shipwrecks of their lives in order to learn about what happened, how they felt about it, how they relate to their wounding experiences, and how these experiences are driving them unsconsciously to do what they are doing now - both usefully and to their detriment."~ Ronelle Coburn, Destiny at Your Fingertips
It is time to heal the unhealed memories, dismantle the limiting beliefs, remove the blocks that have held you back and break the spell that has held you captive. Find a way to let go of everything that no longer serves you.
(4) Uncover the rest of your destiny! What else do you need to know about your life purpose, about your gifts and strengths and challenges and how it all fits together? The answers, the hidden treasure, is in your hands.
Begin to consider how you want to help heal the planet. One person at a time? One couple at a time? One family?
Are you meant to be a professional healer or personal growth catalyst? You are if you checked and found more than five lines. If so, how would you like to do it? There are lots of ways to help people heal!
Healers focus on "personal growth issues" and "blossom into inner-awareness guides, from therapists to Sunday School teachers to motivational speakers with their own corporate jets." ~ Richard Unger, LifePrints
Healers can be bodyworkers, reiki masters, healing touch practitioners. They can be life coaches, counselors, therapists, doctors, chiropractors and aromatherapists. The possibilities are endless.
Begin the process of identifying who you came here to help and make a commitment to help them. Who does your heart most want to help? It may take some time to think through the answer to that question, but you can begin by making a commitment to yourself to find the answer and then, act on it.
Take time to identify and explore what fits for you. It may be what you are doing already, or it might be something new. But whatever it is, you can start now by focusing on your own healing and on sinking deep into this purpose in your daily life.
